I find myself in the middle of a vast frozen lake. The ice is perfectly clear and beneath it I can see slow movements of glowing fish. Their bodies leave gentle trails of light, painting soft arcs in the dark water. The air is completely still, and the silence feels almost sacred.
Far ahead stands a lone tower made of black stone. It rises straight out of the ice with no foundation. I begin walking toward it, and each step causes the frozen surface to sing with a faint bell-like tone. The sound grows stronger the closer I get.
At the entrance of the tower hangs a curtain made of shimmering snowflakes that never melt. When I push it aside, the entire interior becomes a spiral staircase. The walls pulse with pale cyan veins like frozen rivers. I climb slowly, and the temperature grows warmer, as if I am moving toward spring.
At the top of the stairs I find a circular chamber. In the center floats a silver sphere. It spins slowly and reflects the world around it, but the reflection shows a different version of the tower. In that reflection the windows are open and sunlight pours in.
I reach out to touch the sphere. The moment my fingers brush it, gravity disappears. The chamber tilts and I fall upward into a sky full of floating islands. Each island has a single tree covered with red blossoms. The petals drift away and form glowing birds that circle around me.
One bird lands on my shoulder. Its body is warm and made of soft light. It whispers something I cannot understand. The islands begin to merge into a giant shape resembling a doorway. I move toward it without thinking.
Just before I step through, a sudden gust pulls me back and everything becomes silent again. I wake up with the feeling that the dream was guiding me toward a place I was not yet ready to enter.
