I step out onto the roof of a tall building. The sky is divided into squares, like a chessboard. Some squares show day, others night.
At the edge of the roof stands a huge bird made of paper. It folds and unfolds, as if someone is manipulating it like origami.
I approach closer and notice outlines of doors drawn in chalk on the surface of the roof. When I touch one of them, it becomes real.
Behind the door is a dark corridor and music that resembles a heartbeat. I move forward, the corridor turns and suddenly opens into a playground.
The swings sway by themselves. On the slide lies my shadow. It doesn’t match my body. It smiles.
I take a step back and find myself back on the roof. The paper bird raises its wing and points to the sky.
I jump. Instead of falling, my body transforms into paper. I am a bird now too.
But the wind carries me only back.
