A train emerges from the fog. It is silent. The carriages are made of glass. Inside, soft golden lines shimmer, like strands of light. The doors open soundlessly, and I step inside.
Inside the carriage, there are no seats. Only a long gallery filled with shimmering air. The floor is translucent. I see shadows of cities, lakes, and forests slowly drifting beneath me. It feels as if the train is traveling above the entire world.
I walk forward and notice a door at the end of the carriage, glowing with a cold blue light. I approach, open it, and find myself in a vast hall. The ceiling is very high. The walls are made of water that does not fall down. It stands vertically and slowly shimmers.
In the center of the hall is a round pond. The water is smooth and black, like a mirror. I look into it and do not see my reflection. Instead, I see a huge night city where it is raining. Streetlights, people under umbrellas, cars. Everything moves quickly and brightly.
I reach out to the surface, and the pond rises up, as if it is becoming a door. I take a step forward and find myself in the rain. The drops are warm. The city is unfamiliar, but I feel as though I have been here before.
I walk down the street, and people pass by, but no one notices me. Then a girl stops, looks directly at me, and smiles. She hands me a small lantern. I take it. The light inside the lantern is soft and pink. And as soon as I press the button, the world around me begins to glow.
The city dissolves. The rain disappears. Only the warm pink light remains, along with the feeling that I have found something, though I do not know what.
